Asta - what a glorious header! We would have forgotten it's Bastille Day tomorrow.... we are going to have to play the French tapes, hahahahahahahaha!
You have such great adventures - and your Mom looks like she is better with her neck??? We sure hope so!

Asta, I love your new header, you look so regal. Wow you had quite an adventure. My Mom got upset just reading it. I don't get why they get so worried, we will come back eventually. I am sorry you had to get tied up again but it looks like you were forgiven. Those big bugs look so weird. Be careful. It was funny watching you run on the video.

licks and sniffs, Sasha

Hey Tiger. Sounds like you had a blll escaping from the pinkies. We don't know why they stress so much about that either. Nothing is ever going to happen to us, is it?

Hi Asta

Your trip to Lon Gisland looks lovely. We were worried when we read the bit about you running onto the road but then we remembered you are a city girl and must be traffic aware!

Look forward to reading about the rest of your trip. Stay safe.

Hi Asta
Another great trip. I think your Daddi's hat really suits you. Oh to live in a climate where sun protection was necessary! (It rained here ALL Sunday)
As for the orange bug thing, I've never tried one of those but I note that Gail is salivating in an an almost dog-like way, just looking at the picture...
Cheers! H.

Mom says she can only imagine how your mommi must have had a heart attack when you ran into the road! We're glad they got you back safe and sound, Asta, even if you did have to read instead of play! UGH!
Autumn is still deciding what to wear for the Christening tomorrow!

Love ya lots,

Oh Asta...LUCKY those bad cars on the road didn't get you. My mum and dad say they are proud of me for learning to walk without a lead (most of the time when we're not close to a road)...but my mum also has heart attacks if I'm out of reach for more than 5 seconds...oh well, I guess it's the price of being so LUVVED - there are many others out there who are on the street alone 'cos their mums and dads don't care about them. As I'm in Emerald, in Central Queensland in Australia in our caravan at the moment, Long Island sounds very exotic to me and looks beautiful...love from Colin Harries xx

Such adventures! Careful giving your mom heart attacks. She is ancient like mine and subsequently quite fragile I suppose.

Long Island gave you super zoomies! Must be an exciting place.

I am not sure what those giant red insects were. I think you should leave those to the humans.

Hi, Asta...

What a great place...

Looks like it was the week for escaping...

Checkers went exploring...I jumped thru the screen...& you went looking for fun on LonGisland...I don't know why the humans get all upset when we are just looking for a little adventure...

My Mom says she is going to LonGisland in September...

She is going to visit my human brother who lives there & they are going to a show & everything...But she is leaving me home...

Not fair, I say...

We enjoyed your adventures on Lon Gisland. Mama also gets upset when I (Hershey) run into the street. Kaci and I are glad that you were not in trouble for long.

Asta,

Our Mom knows the kind of heart attacks your Mom was probably having when you decided to go on your little adventure. But reading and sitting on the pier looked restful.

Hooomans scare easy. We have to be careful with them.

Since Just Harry just gave mom and dad a scare the other night by running off after that very loud firecracker went off right under our noses -- we know just how your mommi felt when you ran off -- especially into the street.

Little urbanista, you shouldn't scare your mommi and daddi like that. Trust us, we know!!!

We know exactly what the big deal was with you running off! Our mom has a heart attack when she can't find one of us! We are usually in the fenced yard or hiding in a room with the door shut, but it scares the you-know-what out of her anyway! We're glad those hoomans found you and that you had such a great weekend!

Ciao bella Asta!!

A weekend on LonGisland! What fun!! Did you wear your Topsiders while you were there? They make such a delightful squeaky sound!!

About your dash toward the street, I am very glad you are ok, dolce amica. I slipped my collar during last night's walkies and la mia ragazza almost had a canary. (Mmmm .... poultry....) I didn't go anywhere, honest, but she was practically His Terrier Call. Hoomans!! Santa vacca, get a grip already!!

What a beautiful place for a mini-vacation! It looks like you had loads of fun there. Asta, as your friend, I must tell you that it was Wrong of you to run off like that. I hope you learned a good lesson, because I hope you do not try that again!

That first picture of you and your mom is loverly! Meanwhile, I understand too well the pull of adventure! Our parents don't. (Glad you're safe and sound, though.) ;)

We've been anxiously awaiting your LonGisland adventures stories. It made us wag with happiness to wake up to them this morning! What a great place to visit and huge place to run! We're so glad that it all turned out with a happy ending when you ran off... we know how upset our Moma and Girl would have been (Nina even has dreams about me - Jake - running off), but it seems everyone recovered quickly and had a good rest of the evening.

How kind and thoughtful of Daddi sharing his hat with you! You know it's important to protect tender sensitive skin. Sunburns can ruin a nice weekend, let alone damage the skin. By the way... my - Fergi - speckles are NOT freckles from sun damage. I was born that way. I'm taking good care to not get over-exposed when I'm in the sun.

That orange thingees that Mommi and Daddi and their friends ate (and you tasted) reminded us of a orange and yellow and black thingee that our Awntie took on her weekend trip to visit our Uncle. We want her to blog about the trip. She got some great pictures and we were disappointed we missed out on the adventure.

But this isn't about us... it's about YOU! And your adveture! And we are looking forward to seeing and learning more!

We hope the Christening goes as beautifully as we expect it to. We are hoping the wee ones wear little white christening gowns. We all think they are so sweet.

Welcome back! We missed you!
Love to you and your Mommi and our Daddi
Miss Fergi, Jake and our people :)

You were in HEAVEN running around and zooming to your adventurous escape. My girl is the same way about me and cars. She doesn't seem to realize I know how to take care of myself. Watching the video of you running like the wind... I was right there running with you.

Looks like you had some time to relax and hang with mommi and try new alien-looking food. Glad your daddi let you borrow his hat to protect your gorgeous pink skin!

Did you get any more freckles from the sun? I'll have to inspect your belly for them next time I see you.

Goober love & smooches,

Hi Asta
Too bad you got in trouble. That's how Arrow is. He likes to wander around. He comes back (when he's ready) but he doesn't understand about cars so he's NEVER loose anymore outside the doggie park. (Poor guy) But you looked like you had a great time. Good thing you're ok. Maybe it's a terrier thing.

p.s. I never tasted a big red bug!

Hi Asta,

Ooh - I love this post!! So many fun things to share with you!

I'm glad you didn't get hurt or lost in your Great Escape - but your poor humans! They must have been frantic! My humans sometimes play this game with me when we're out walking where if I walk off ahead, they suddenly run off and hide somewhere so when I turn back, I can't see them! Oooh - then I really panic! And I start running like mad, looking for them everywhere...my trainer told them to do this to help teach me never to go far from them and always keep an eye on them and to follow them - rather than then following me - but I think it's a bit of a mean game, to tell you the truth! But anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I know how your humans must feel - that awful scary panicky feeling - so don't feel too annoyed that they tied you up, Asta!

I did love to watch you running around - you looked so sweet!

And WOW! Those big orange bug things were scary! I would have been afraid to go near them, never mind taste them!

What a beautiful place to stay - you are such a lucky pup! Can't wait for Part 2 of your adventures!!

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
ps. love your new header picture!!!

Hmm.. both Hershey and I speak from experience about this ok, so you've gotto believe us. Running away from your hoomans and onto the road is something that causes great distress to the hooomans. We are not sure why but we do know that it makes the hooman/s super duper upset and it generally results in some form of 'jail' afterwards.. please please do not attempt that again!!
That organey thingy looks fun to play with... oh I didn't know that your mom likes Tanner's corn cob too. I will remember to send her one for her birthday.. heehee...
