It sounds like you had a great day. I did get to enjoy some treats, but I do not do well with loud noises. I was a nervous wreck and I am glad it is over. You look nice snugging in bed.

Hi Asta
Fantastic Smilebox - we loved it - the lovely colours of the fireworks and the wonderful pictures of you and Duffy - plus your humans!
Looks like you all had the best of times celebrating with family and friends.
Lots of great food too - glad you showed duffy the best positions to get some food!
Have a good rest today.

We watched some of those on TeeVee, and thought of you and Mommi and Daddi. How nice that they could stay with you and Duffy, and not have to sit outside. Thank you for sharing all the photos. We hope you have a good sneep.

Hi kousin Asta,

Great slide show. I loved all your pictures!

Your boomers must have been awesome! And what a tremendous vantage point! You got a beautiful, clear view and didn't have most of the noise. And you had great company to enjoy it all with. It doesn't get any better than that!

Did Duffy ever turn around and watch the show? Sometimes guys can be so dense.

I had an awful time with the noise that we had here. I tried to hide under the table, but it didn't work out too well. Next year I'll have to find a better place than that to hide, or else leave town.

As for the next couple of days, I am doing exactly what your are doing. Today I slept until almost noon. And I'm taking a nap now. I hope 4th of July doesn't come again for a long time.

Great post, Asta! Thanks for all those super pictures!

Love and Koobuss Kisses,
Kousin Koobie

It sounds like you had a beautiful Independence Day celebration! Our 'pooter doesn't want us to see the Smilebox pictures right now, so we'll have to come back later for the show. But we imagined you last night as we watched the NYC fireworks on TV. How lucky you are that you saw them right out your window. And how nice it is that you weren't scared of the booms. We we happy inside (the pops and booms were quieter) and the ones on the television didn't bother us. But when it came time to go outside one last time before bedtime.... well, let's just say I had to hold my peepee all night long. I couldn't begin to relax and let it go last night. I bolted for the door to go back inside, instead. Those weren't angels bowling in heaven, Daddi, they were 'splosions down on the beach!! Scary! (But beautiful.)

Tell Mommi we hope she's feeling a bit better.
Miss Fergi (and Jake. He's sleeping)

Hi Asta,

It looks like you had a great celebration - even with no garden or grill!! What amazing photos! (but then - as I always keep saying - you always have the BEST parties!!!) - especially of the fireworks! WOW! You must have the best view in the city from your windows!

My human, Paul, had his birthday on the 4th of July but my humans tell me that it is also sort of like the birthday of your country and that is why you have fireworks! :-)

That's fabulous fireworks show Asta!
Right in front of your window at your eye level just like your own pay per view HBO!
My dad drove to his work next to the airport to have a BBQ pawty and watching fireworks, the view was nice and clear but nothing compared with yours!
Hugs to your mom, wet licks to her sore neck, does your mom need physical therapy besides pain pills, muscle relaxant, heat and cold pack? My dad had neck pain and arm pain before, the surgeon said no surgery for now, my dad went through all kinds of therapy including the scary device that hung on the door to pull his neck out, ewww!
Asta, I wore the suit that you dressed me to Scooby's wedding, they oooh and ahhh and said I look "dapper".
Thanks to you again and again, Asta, muahhhh!

So sorry to hear about your mom's neck. Hope she takes plenty of rest and get all better soon! LS said she understand how your mommi feels. She has hurt her wrists too and it certainly frustrates her a lot.

And bad bad picasa! We didn't know about this either. Thanks for sharing. LS said she'll try to search for the wonderful pictures you and your mommi made previously. Hopefully she has them.

OMG...I am so glad you are not quitting! I am just getting word about the lost pictures and your mum not feeling well and how sad you all were about stuff going on. My mum gets really busy these days and she gets upset and thinks about taking a break from blogging, because she is unable to visit everyone everyday and then she gets farther behind in helping me and then now her camera is all messed up, so no new pictures of me and my birthday party or 4th of July or anything. sometimes we all need a little break and what is so great is if you do take breaks, no one forgets you and its like you are never gone. I thank everyone everywhere for being such great pals and so understanding...and I for one would miss you greatly if you ever went away. Big paw hugs and smoochie kisses...Please don't tell Stanley I sent you kisses cuz I think he could woop my butt for sure.

Oh Asta! My momma and I were away for the long weekend, and we come back to see that you have had a difficult few days.

I'd just like to send a hug your way and tell you how glad I am about your change of heart. Your bloggie was one of the first we ever saw, and part of the reason I started blogging. You are one of the major threads that holds DWB together. Never, EVER leave! Ok?

Welcome back!

Sounds like you had a fine Independence Day. We did too! Mom and my Daddy went to the Roswell UFO Festival and the Wall that Heals. When they came home we napped and chillaxed all afternoon and then watched fireworks from our backyard. OK they were outside while we stayed in where it was not so noisy.

Dear Asta, Guess what?! What! Our human is a dunce too! Also, this is a truly outstanding bunch of posts here not only for your totally awesome return but also for the teaching us of this new werd, dunce! We looked it up and whew! Boy, really, all the humans have some dunce-i-city in them! Becuz they are humans and not dogs. Also, we think your mom is allowed to over-react every once in a whiles becuz truthfully, your mom is so considerate and generous with her time and efforts that, well, she should just be allowed. OK Asta, you're the best! Two Paws UP! Love, your PaLs, LuLu and LoLLy!
