Asta Girl...

We saw the news bout poor Durango and Maggie getting hurt by a hooman who didn't even care enough to stop.

We don't know why these kinda things happen, but we do know that we doggie, kitty, and hamsterrier bloggers are a WALL...a brick wall of support for all who need it. We just sent a huge box of Terrier zen to Maggie...Know how we make more if we get low??? We go to Mumsie and get her to do scratchies and give kissies...and the supply is built back up. It's LOVE, Asta...simply that. And it's our job to spread it...sorta like jam on toast.

On another gastonomical but lighter note...Mumsie took Scruffy to the vettie this morning to check on the progress of the buckle on his Gentle Leader collar it migrates through his plumbing system. They took an xray and Mumsie paid $154.76 to find out Scruffy is full of sh**! Honestly, I coulda told her that for a lot cheaper. So the buckle seems to be being gentle to his colon and everthing should all come out ok in the end...or from his end. Or whatever.

Love kissies,
Lacie

Should that be the title of my next post...Scruffy's full of.....

Hi Asta! We have been so saddened at the amount of pet loss, one way and another, over the holiday season, but, being a dog, I know that we will all meet again over the rainbow bridge.

Looks like a fine time in your city at night; good thing we doggies have night vision!

Sorry I've been away...Mom's just been very busy this last week or so. Know that I'm still out here and love you very much.

You will under no circumstances stop blogging! Do you understand!!!!!! All of these things are truly horrible but with all the bad there is good and fun and there needs to be good and fun for us to keep going on. It's ok to be happy and go to dinner pawties and fly on Aire Ruby...as long as we can do whatever is within our furry paws to help ease the pain of others...that could be to rescue, to donate $$, to volunteer, to leave a comment for a sick friend or to write a post that makes someone smile! Your posts always make me smile!!! It is so very important we keep going on.

I would be lost if you weren't here blogging with me and of course sharing Stanny! I woof you and your Mama and Pappa, ok!

Lots of Loving Licks, Ruby

P(ee)S - My Mom is drooling at the thought of Pastis...she just LOVES that place!!!

We all love you and your blog so please keep at it!!

Life really doesn't feel fair sometimes. We all do what we can by trying to educate people and by helping out doggies in need as much as we can. Just be thankful for your furever home!

Asta, my tiny sweetheart.

See what everyone else has said about good and bad and happy and sad? Think of yourself as the happy/good side which is balancing the sad/bad most of the time, but do not be afraid to tell us if you are having a bad/sad day or time yourself, because we will all share. Right now MaryAnn needs your balance, tomorrow, you might need hers.

We get sad and frustrated too but the happiness we get from reading your silly posts far outweighs the sadness when we lose a friend. Plus, its a friend we never even would have had if we weren't blogging. I sure hope you keep blogging :(

Hi Asta! Sorry I haven't been able to visit your blog for a long time. But now I'm back in action!

I know how you feel, so many dogs are getting hurt and dying and it makes me not feel like posting happy and funny things either. But the truth is, posting these happy and funny things will give us happy and funny memories, because wouldn't it be horrible if all our memories were only of all these sad and bad things? And when something sad happens, then we need something fun to happen to help cheer us up so we can move on with life!

I hope you're having a good New Year so far.

I just read about Durango and Maggie. I am glad that Maggie wasn't too badly hurt, but it's appalling that driver doesn't have a sense of responsibility or a heart.

Asta, please don't stop blogging. there are so many unhappy things happening out there in the world. we need happy things and thoughts to keep all of us going. you do a part with your blog, bringing smiles into the lives of so many DWB-ers everyday, please never stop. we can all try to do our part by helping unhappy or unfortunate pups, but don't forget that laughter is the best medicine :)

Hey Asta, everydog has already expressed what I wanted to say in a far more eloquent way than I ever could. Please don't stop blogging. When I was really ill, it was a great comfort to J1 & J2 to read everydog's good wishes and funny comments. It really helps! Yes, there are always going to be sad times but having such a great support network is such a wonderful thing. J x

You're not allowed to stop blogging. Everything that's been happening is part of life. It makes us sad but we have to take the good with the bad. You give us all so much when we read your blog.
We need a bit of cheering up at the moment with all that's been happening so keep on blogging ok.

We agree with what others have said. Ma really didn't know whether to let Cassidy and I have a blog because after Oscar's death she didn't know if she could face reading that other dogs had become ill or died and go through the pain. But the good times we all share and the support we all give each other makes it worthwhile. We are a fantastic support network for each other, and as others have said, it can help to read about others lives when feeling sad. In the weeks after Oscar's death, you probably remember that ma used to keep reading the blogs. It helped her to know that Oscar's pals were all still out there having fun.

Big, huge kissies to you sweet girl.

Hi Asta,
No doubt we have had some sad news and lost some of our dear friends, but to look at the bright side, if we didn't blog we wouldn't have made SO many new friends from different parts of the world. Y.O.U are one of the best things that happened to me!

Asta,
Every one of these comments are absolutely right! Reading about the fun and silliness on other doggie's blogs helps any of us who are feeling sad. That is one of the reasons our mom started a blog for us. She wanted to belong to such a caring community. Please don't stop blogging!

Sweet Astarroni Fuzzpea Sweetbutt Girlie O' Mine!

I am not the only pup who loves you, but I am hooked on you now and sadly, cannot go on knowing you're out there living your life and not sharing it with me & all your friends.

The only way I can figure out for you (and all of us) not to hurt, is not to care in the first place, which would be like you not loving, which, frankly, is as natural as breathing to you. Basically, you couldn't live without loving those around you and those you hear about. Sometimes I hate that the price of loving & caring is deep hurt when something happens to one of us (or anydog or person that we hear about).

If my girl had continued to try not to let another pup into her heart after Rosie died last Feb, she wouldn't have adopted me, and you can imagine how dull her life (and mine) would be, and we would have never met you and your mommi & daddi. I seriously can't remember my life very well before we met.

I guess, ultimately, you and your mommi have to decide why you blog and how you blog and if you blog. No one will hate you if you decided not to any more, but we would all feel a hole in our lives. (THat is not said to pressure you, it's just the truth).

I LOVE YOU with my goober heart and thank doG everyday that you were born!

Goober love & sweet goob smooches,
Your Stanley Boy

OH. Sweet AstaGurrrl!

If you stop blogging I am coming to New Pork (mmmm. New Pork...) to kick you in your terrier booty and to move in with you so I can see your life first-hand! This is NOT a threat. It is a VERY REAL promise. Ask yourself if you really want ME there living with you (without Stanley ~ I won't let him come with me). Seriously, gurrl. Ask yourself if you want me singing in your face to wake you up at 6 AM EVERYday.

Just something for you to think about, fren.

Gooberiest of gooby love & kissies,

I know those who have passed away or have been hurt, don't want to see us stop slogging or feel sad. Oh & you wouldn't want Opy the gruff puppy to threaten you too right like how he did to Marvin's mom, Jeannie when she wanted to stop too...Hugs to you little one!

Isn't Pastis where all the celebs hang out? Do you ever get run over by those pupperazis?

Hi sweetest Asta-
Just think how much happiness you and your mommi and your blog bring!
We dogs know so much better than the humans that sometimes life is good, good, good, and sometimes not so much. But where ever there is good, there is happiness which spreads and helps. Which is why when the humans are sad and worried and upset, we go get a stuffie and drop it at their feet and wag and bark and remind them to play.
It is up to those of us who can be happy and play to spread our joy!

And no doggy does that better than you.

Thanks, Asta, for sharing your pictures on your walk to your Aunt Karen's. Motch visited your town once and LOVED it! She was even at Washington Square, real close to your aunt's house.

Hey Asta,
Yes, we know the doggy world has had many losses or injuries, and we feel the pain too. But we can't dwell on the past, we must continue to live our lives and enjoy them because we never know when our last day will be, so don't feel guilty about writing happy things. Cherish the good moments.

We all feel bad and sad at times, Asta. We need each other and our blogs are a source of comfort. It is so nice to read about your dinner pawties and to see your terrific pictures of New York. Our blogs make us smile, and we sure need more of that.

Yes, we get sad and angry and frustrated. That is part of life. So we reach out to one another and someone will say something or do something that makes us laugh, and we feel better. That, Asta, is why we blog. Just think of how empty your life would be without your blog. We never would have met and a part of my life would be missing something special.

Please continue to blog, because if you don't, then that would make me sad and countless others, too.
