Hey Asta, don't be sad. Remember that I'm a fighter; I beat cancer and kidney stones and am coping well with degenerative disc disease. If I do have CD I'm sure I'll be OK. My vet thinks I'm indestructible! As for Janie, well she's a WFT so we KNOW she's a tough cookie! We have to stay pawsitive! J x

Dear Asta,

I understand how you feel. I too worry like you
My mamma says that it is not bad to worry and be aware of things in the world, because often awareness, leads to action, and thats good!

Like Margaret Mead said:

~Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens (dogs) can change the world~

Just by talking about things that worry us, to others, leads to them becoming aware, and then they might start to talk to their friends, and then they become aware and so starts the snowball effect.

And then somewhere, there might be just ONE dog, that hears your words through many doggie voices, and then maybe, just maybe that ONE dog gathers strenght from those words enough to fight back for her doggie rights, and even help other doggies find better lives.

Such is the power of awareness Asta...

YOU made me more aware today, because of your worried post
And there are some things us dogs can do, even if we are "just" dogs..for one..Puppy Mills, such as the one that Janie *grew* "down" in... needs to be Shut down
These are some tips on how we can start help those poor puppies that are held hostages in such places of greed.

inside_a_puppy_mill.html

There are many organizations that fight for
good causes all around the world. If we all just picked a couple each
and then full heartedly supported their efforts
then the world would become a better placE.

and poor Jackson...like everydog said, We all do worry about him.
We all have to help send him healing thoughts

I dont know about Jackson's sickness, and what causes
it, but I know that very many illnesses and doggie problems, can be caused by the environment we live in,
chemicals we breathe and get in contact with every day, without knowing they can make us very sick.

The best thing to do,is to become aware
of what can harm us and then eliminate all harmful chemicals from our food and the places we sleep and live.
converting to all natural non chemical foods and products
is easier and cheaper then most mammas think..please copy
paste the link below and become aware, and then
bark at your mammas till they read it too!

Asta, THANK YOU for your post today
and thank you for making me more aware.
I am going to post this also in my bloggie today
because your worries are my worries too!!

I send you all my golden Love

Oh Asta, don't give up, little fuzzy butt. you can only do what you can do. people tell our mom that she can't save all of the animals even though she keeps trying. you can drive yourself crazy with worrying and that doesn't help anyone. and besides, our mom always tells us not to worry. worrying isn't for dogs. worrying is mom's job.
so take it easy, little friend, think good thoughts for everydog and be thankful for all you have.

Sweet Asta,

We all worry too, and you've expressed what we're thinking -- about feeling helpless in the face of so many sad and cruel things in the world.

But you're not really helpless because it is all the warmth and love that you spread that makes things brighter and more hopeful. And you've done lots to help by your walk and other actions we don't even know about.

So just be yourself, and we'll all feel better even when we are sad and depressed. I hope that makes sense. I am of a philosophical nature, but after all, just Jake the dog.

Woofs to you and your folks!!!

Oh Asta, my sisters and I are all rescues and we consider ourselves very lucky.

Katherine found my mother right outside our home. Katherine had been running around outside for a while and had a terrible sores on her neck from where she had been tied up with a chain.

Sweet Zorra was just a pup when she was rescued from a market, where who knows where she would have landed if our auntie hadn't found her.

I had a different story. I just came from a home where my first mother could not handle a young pup like me. My mother now took me in, and raised me to be the fine outstanding dog that I am now.

My mother has a big heart and rescues all sorts of animals and tries to help find decent homes for them all.

One pup, kitty, or person can make a profound difference in just one other pup, kitty, or person's life. And, that is worth it all. Just helping one.

Don't get disheartened, Asta. I know you have helped all sorts of pups and anyone else. Just sometimes, it does seem overwhelming. But, chip up! WFTs cannot be held down for long!

Affectionately yours,

Sam

G'day Asta,
We understand how you feel. There are some horrid horrid hoomans out there that truely deserve to be hit square in the head by the Karma bus! We just have to do the best we can to help put things right. There are also plenty of nice hoomans too that have come to the rescue of lots of doggies, hammies and other fury friends.

We all have our paws crossed that Jackson and Janie are ok. Look at all Jackson's been through, he's a tough cookie.

You're such a sweetie Asta. Hope you can cheer up. Goodness, if you're sad, we'll all be sad.

Asta, I don't know if this will cheer you up, but my mom totally loves me to pieces and so do all her friends. I get to go stay with my dad sometimes and he loves me too. I know lots of doggies don't have such a great life, but at least some of us do and maybe we can set an example for the rest. Or start some sort of vigilante organization where we go out and be nasty to the people who are nasty to their pups.

I hope you are able to have a great halloween. Me and mom and going to hang out at home and watch a movie. I love doing that.

Asta, Asta...One only has to turn on the 'puter to see that there are really amazing hoomans in the world who DO make this a better place. Go to ur "friend's list." Anyone of those doggies, hamsterriers or kitties AND their hoomans would do anything for you. Like has been said above, if any of the thoughts expressed here makes even one doggie or hooman be more greatful for what we have and make them have a better day then the magic is spreading.

We love you, Asta Girl!
Keep spreading the magic....

Oh sweet Asta,

Such serious thoughts for such a young pup. I know the world can be so cruel. So, we need to commit ourselves to do right by all animals. Boycott puppymills and petshops who buy from them. And, most importantly love all animals as much as we can. Think positive for all of our friends who are ill, they need the positive thoughts. Jackson and Janie know how much they are loved by all the doggies and hammies, so they will be fine. I truly believe that!

Your pal,
Kirby

asta dearie don't feel so blue. there are a multitude of weird hoomans out there. look, they even do bad things to their own kind. but there are so many good hoomans out there who are all about helping ill-treated pups and cats and little animals too. just think of how much awareness you raised when you suggested donations instead of pressies for your birthday.

i hope Janie and Jackson do better soon, and that you feel better soon too.

love..

Oh dear, sweet kousin Asta,

Don't be sad, little cutie. I think that there will good news on both our friends.

Life can be tough, and there are many terrible, nasty people out there. But there are more wonderful, good, caring, and kind people who love us, and rescue us, and take care of us. They are the reasons our tails wag.

Sorry I'm a little late in answering this. Mom's puter has been busy.

Asta, I'm just seeing this. I hope my story about Bella didn't make you down in the dumps, because really it has the most WONDERFUL, true ending. Bella has such a loving home!
I know how much sweetness and laughter and love and warmth dogs have brought to me, and even though I'm just a lowly servant, I do my best to make the world as safe as it can be for every soul I encounter in it.
There are more good humans out there than bad!

Sweet Sweet Asta!

I feel this way sometimes, but don't talk about it alot. It's okay to admit how helpless you feel and to feel the pain others are experiencing. Please remember too that you ARE already doing something. Do you know how many dogs and their hoomans look forward EVERYDAY to seeing your face and getting your smoochie kisses? You are a bright spot for so many. Because of that, this post too will reach many people and cause them to think about what they could do.

I love how you are just right out there with what you're thinking and how you feel. That's one of the many reasons I love you so!

Goober love & extra hugs,
Your Stanley Boy
