Still in Afwika-Toffee is taken Ill, and the seawch fow Joey begins

My sweet new fwiend Toffee was taken ill last night and had to be wushed to the hospital..
He's a bwave and stuwdy boy, but I think the invasion of all the giwls and the subsequent pawtying wewe just a bit much fow him

Thankfully, the emewgency Vetses wewe excellent and he is now back home westing in bed
Pleez go and wish him a speedy wecovewy

I stopped by and bwought him some gowgeous native flowews to cheew him up in his sick bed befowe setting out to twy to find Joey who was catapoolted into space by the stoopid fawt lighting game the boyz had last night Don't ask..BOyz sheeesh

Feeling a bit guilty about the whole thing, Mango accompanied me pawt of the way

we asked absolutely evewyone we saw

babyStan,Scwuffy, Lacie and I thought we could make bettew pwogwess on some local twanspawtation

Tannew was vewy wowwied and showing gweat couwage, went up close an pawsonel in his seawch

the locals wewe unfailingly polite, but no one had any news of Joey

the heat of the day got to me and I took a dip in the cool ocean watews . A gwoup of penguins came by, but they didn't have a clue

finally , ouw host and cewtified toow guide, Max asked an Elli fant fwiend of his to take us to some out of the way places to look. Unfowtoonately, we still had no cloo about Joey's landing site.

all this seawching made me incwedibly pawched
Luckily, souf Afwika has lots of bootiful vineyawds and some pawsome wines..
I decided to west and sample some

as I wandewed about one of the vineyawds, guess who called to me?
You have it..Mango,Petey and Wosie had been sampling some bottles instead of wunning awound looking fow Joey. They invited me to come join them..which I gwatefully did

by sunset, I was exhausted and quite discouwaged and headed fow camp..
thewe on the tewwace, I intewwupted Max and his gowgeous giwlfwiend Tammy in a welaxint tet a tet. They wewe gwacious about it and asked me to come join them, but I think they needed a little pwivacy and time away fwom the intwooding guests so I thanked them and declined

instead , I soaked my achy feets in some lovely watew while looking at anothew glowious day come to an end
I shoowe hope we find Joey..I'm quite wowwied fow his safety

(again , make suwe to get a dffewent pawspective on some of my fwiendses bloggies by visiting them)

Oh, Asta. We warned Toffee a couple of days ago. We wondered if he was up for what he was getting himself into. We sure hope he recovers quickly and doesn't have any relapses.

We hope you all can find Joey. We wondered if he got stuck in the trees? We're sure, though, that you must've looked from that giraffe's tall back. (You looked so elegant. How romantic, if only you weren't on a Search and Rescue.)

Moma says to take good notes on South African wines. She's never tasted any. And enjoy those glorious days. You'll come back with memories galore. And hopefully you'll come back with Joey.

We love you and miss you,
SissieFergi and BruvverJake

Oh poor Joey. Sure hope you find him soon. At least he is used to the heat there in Africa since he's a Phoenix boy.We know he'll turn up soon. Don't worry.

Be careful drinking wine in the heat...it might go to your head dear.

Asta dear!!!
Might I congratulate you an a truly EXCELLENT post! It's almost as if you did the entire post for me...hic (that wine is going to my head!)
You really have been the pawfect guest and sooo sweet to TOFFEE. Don't worry, with his daily dose of pain killers, he's having the same winey effect as all of us.
(Eish...you are such a sweety!!!!)
...and that picture of Tammy and I having our sundowners...we'll it is going to go into the Tour Guiding archives. (As well as the Elephant Safari pic!)
You have been truly outstanding in your phootooography...hic.
Oh, by the way, I hear some lost, 'blow-torch' soul has been caught starting veld (bush) fires.
Anyway, thanks for all the truly wonderful pictures and all your hard work.
We are loving you guys here in SOUTH AFRICA (mmm...we think so at least...hic)
Lots of licks from Toffee. Lots of kissies from Tammy and
great hugs from

Where is Joey? Now we shall worry for him!

Hi Asta
Is it just us or are you beginning to look more and more like Agatha Christie?
Of course we mean this as the greatest compliment.
You do have that great quest for adventure, enquiring mind and well, lets face it, the outfit!
We do so hope Toffee is better soon and that Joey is found.
We confess to being a little worried abotu Joey - Africa is not the place to be lost on your own.
There are so many dangers.
Tanner is being increbibly brave looking for his brother - it is good to see that at times like this siblings pull together.
We loved all the pictures - Max having the tete a tete with his girlfriend was beautiful - very Out of Africa!!!
We will tune in for further adventures.
love
Martha & Bailey xxxx

Honestly Asta...why wasn't I allowed to sneep on the bed with Toffee??? I had my scrubdress on and (the one with the adorable detachable ruffle around the butt and I think it would have made the poor boy feel better. Whoever said NEVER SIT ON A PATIENT'S BED was stoopid anyway...it's very healing and it's easier to reach the blender...

I loved that picture of you looking all shimmery when we were lookin' for stoopid Joey...why did he catch his bum on fire for anyway???

Mumsie had a smidgeon too much wine at the wedding last night. Then Scruffy got her up at 4 am and was dreadfully sick on his papers and then the carpet. The really gross part is Mumsie found the papers that she had picked up and put in a bag to go out to the trash in the pantry this morning...um hum...too much wine. She has a bit of a headache too...she had a glass and a half...it was that second half that did her in...

I need to go and find a cold rag for her forehead...

Kisses...Laciegirlie

Pee ess...good thing she found the papers in the pantry before daddy got his cereal.....

Hi Asta,
Wow... you look smashing in the bating suit!! Hopefully you will fun Joey soon (and have some fun while doing it)!

Asta, please realize that wine I was sharing with Mango and Rosie was strictly medicinal. We discovered through a South African doctor/vinter that it successfully removes any remains of tranquilizers from one's system and with Joey gone missing, we've got to be at our sharpest wits!

You did an awesome job riding that giraffe - glad you didn't slide right off its back.

Your pal,

Petey
