By now it was afternoon, and we went back to the big house fwom town where the pawade was heldI supewvised the setting up of the hoops for playing cwoquet

we had a wefweshing dwink(i love to cwunch the ice fwom Mommi's)
and a game of cwoquet
Here's Daddy being a goofball with auntie Kawen
Mommi is totally hopeless at playing this(or pwactically any other game hehehe..something about a depwived childhood, puhleeeez)...anyway we would still be there twying to get thfroo the hoops, if I didn't give the ball just the teensiest little nudge(after making suwe no one was looking) I love my Mommi, and just couldn't bear to watch her be hoomildiated
Daddy is just tooo tall, but he's the bestest playerWe were going to play some mowe, but it stawted to dwizzle a little bit....
Mommi needed lots of help picking up all the croquet malletsWe got vewy hungwy after all that plaaying and the whole day of xcitement...............
Of couwse, I had to make suwe unkel Dick knew what to do with the BBQ, he was vewy appweciative of my helpWe had a ton of super yummy food..buwgews, hotdogs, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, and too many other things to mention, and at the end there was cake and fwuit

I couldn't have the chocolate cake, but there's no one who says that WALLYmelon is bad for uswe got lucky, the fiwewowks were too far to be heard thfroo the dwizzly wain, but we sat on the porch and watched the bootiful fiwefwies..it looked like a pictuwe fwom Sir Chance-Lot's magic fairy land

tomowwow will be the last post about my twip..you are pwobably sick and tiwed of New Hamster by now...thanks fow being so patient...smoochie kisses to all

Me and muzzer are loving the New Hampshire photos. We are living the New England holday vicariously. Everything looks delicious and bucolic, and we are most jealous.

Hey, do you think all wires like to crunch ice? My favorite part of travel is the ice from hotel machines. Yummy! And if it comes out of muzzer's drink glass, even yummier.

Hiya Asta! I love reading about your trip to New Hamster! You're having so much fun!

I wish I could travel like you. But Singapore is too small a country and I dont think I'm allowed to travel out of Singapore :( So it's great that I get to read about other doggies travel instead :)

The wally melon looks good and refreshing. I wonder if I can get mommy to buy me some next time :) I love crunching ice-cubes too. They are the next best thing to ice-creams and frosty paws!

Keep those stories coming!

Hi Asta

You're very kind helping your mum through the hoops. I'm glad you had such a happy time. You deserved lots of yummie treats because you helped everyone so much.

Asta Girl!

You write so bootifully, and with such a fresh "voice" that it is highly entertaining (to ANYONE who reads you).

How would the hoomans ever have enjoyed their weekend without you? It was like you all went to summer camp and you were the head counselor - looking out for the physical, developmental, and emotional needs of your campers. (You're such a caring pup with a huuuuge heart!) I would be your camper any day. Just name the place!

Those drinkies looked mighty tasty to me. I am a lover and connoisseur of fine ices. Next time I crunch some, I will think of you, Sweetpea.

Your mommi & daddy sure did you a favor by driving you out to the country for the holiday. I can't imagine how noisy the 4th of July would be in New York, but something tells me you were spared some anxiety. (They must love you very very very much!)

Can't wait for the next installment!

Goober love & kisses,
Stanley

Oooo that food looks good! I should make my humans spend more time enjoying the great outdoors, except we have so many mosquitoes (they are the NJ state bird...) and it is so humid here that going outside is like being hit in the face with a hot wet towel, and then attacked by flying piranha.

Yikes!

Hi Asta,

I really liked reading all about your trip to New Hamster. It sounded like a lot of fun. My Mom must have had a deprived childhood too because she doesn't know how to play any games either (other than Scrabble). I had to teach her how to play tug-a-dog before she'd play with me.

You know what, Just Harry and I always sit in front of the ice machine waiting for some to spill out whenever anyone gets a drink. We love to crunch ice!! Wonder why we wires like that so much.

So stay cool -- it's a good thing we know how to hold it because Mom doesn't like to take us outuntil it gets a bit cooler in the late afternoon She's afraid the hot pavement will hurt our paws before we get to the grass.
