a weekend on Lon Gisland, and NOMSF day

On Fwiday, Jackson said he was feeling like his old self, and wanted to spend some quality time wif hes fwiend Seamus, and J1 andJ2...
also, my pawents wewe kind of lonely.....so I decided to wun home fow the weekend and spend some time wif them

Some tewwific fwiends had invited us out to Lon Gisland fow the weekend..so we wushed to Penn Station, met up wif auntie Kawen, and took the supew cwouded twain wif evewyone twying to leave the city..heheheh (it took us about 2hws.)

We got to ouw fwiendses house just in time fow cocktails at 6:00
I wan to the window to see theiw view wight away, and asked to be let out

WOW...lots of gwass
I was tied to a long wope so I could admiwe evewything till the hoomans made the hows doovwes and dwinks

Daddi helped me get wid of the stiffness fwom being in a bag on the stoopid twain

the gwass wuns wight down to the watew

and thewe is a little dock..so you can  jump in the little boat fwom it

by now I had wowked up an appetite and thoughtfully shawed Daddi's salami( I don't want my pawents to get too much fattew)
the sky was getting pink...and so ouw hosts suggested we go look at the sunset fwom the watew

Unkel S couldn't believe some of the jokes I told..you can see auntie Kawen enjoyed them too

My Daddi came and held me tight..I'd nevew been in a boat befowe wif hoomans, and I had no lifewest, but he said if I jumped in..he'd jump wight aftew me and save me

it was bootiful

I didn't know which way to look..I loved it!

the wind and spway in my face felt sooo good..I felt like I was that guy in the movie Titanic(only I'm a giwl of couwse)

that was my favowite owngey -pink cloud

it was getting dawkew, so we headed back to showe and theiw house..so we could have dinnew

I had a supewb time!!!!

I watched while unkel S docked the boat and inspected evewything

then I saw this monstew of the deep...It was definitely time to go inside

but aftew dinnew, I went out fow my last walk, and like evewy night..I made my wish on the dog staw..Fow Jackson, and all my sick fwiends
I will tell you the west of my weekend tomowwow..
I've missed you all and I'm sowwy If I havent's been awound and answewed all youw posts and lettews..I'll twy to catch up!!

Meantime..I need to make an announcement!
I know it's late notice..but I just found out..you pwobably know I have a NOMS fwind Sophia aweady, and lots of cat and bunny fwiends..GirlGirl doesn't count cause she's a hamstewbewian dog..I'm not suwe about Moosie..hmmmI'll have to think about that..anyway..twy to pawticipate..it's in the spiwit of ouw Pawlimpics

declare August 5 to be Noms Day.

You celebrate Noms Day however way you want but here are some guidelines of what you could do:

Find a nomss (not-of-my-species-special) friend if you don't have one yet.

Find more noms (not-of-my-species) friends. One can never have too may noms friends!

Have a party with your noms friends. Tell us about them!

Make a post about Noms Day to spread the word and most importantly to promote tolerance towards each and everyone!

Tell your humans about it and urge them to observe Noms Day also. You know that species stands for:
species, race, religion, culture, nationality, language, profession, political party, and so forth - right?

Here is the official Noms Day button to take, we do hope you'll celebrate with us!!!

Hey Asta, wow, I'm so glad you had such a lovely weekend free from your nursing duties. You really deserve it pal, with all the overtime you've been putting in!

I already have a NOMS pal, Miss Peach the cat. And thanks to your kind posts about me I've been inundated with other cats checking up on me. It's been pawsome (as long as they don't come into my back garden!). J x

Hi Asta,
The friends you were visiting have a lovely place. You looked like you were having a ball playing ball and riding in the boat.

We are very pleased to hear Jackson is doing better. We will continue to check up on him and send a prayer up to The Great Cat before we come in. We figure with the Great Cat & Great Dog working together he'll get better in no time.

See you tomorrow. ~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis

What a great time! Did you pick up an accent while there? That boat ride seemed like the best ever, but I don't know if I could have had the self-control that you did. I would have jumped in that water!

Wow! Lon Gisland looks like a beautiful place. My humans miss the ocean in the summer. Your boat ride and sunsets helped me see why. You look very brave on the boat.
I like that NOMS idea. Besides humans I'll have to find another species and try to get along with them.

That looks like such a beautiful place! It was cool to see the wind ruffling through your furs. And you are very good at "Leave It". That seems like a hard command to do!

Long Island is a beautiful place to relax with your family, Asta. My Mama has relatives there.

What was that sea monster???? I hope it didn't jump.

Glad you had some time off and that Jackson was feeling well enough for you to leave.

Oh, and don't forget to pass on the Red Bow award that Rocky gave you.

You are the sweetest pupcake on Lon Gisland! Looks like your mommi and daddi needed the break with you as much as you needed the time with them!

Of course, you were the heart and soul of the weekend. I have no doubt about that.

Did you get up Saturday morning, run outside & DIVE into that bootiful water so close to the house? You know, you could not keep me from that water! (Wish we could go swimming together.)

Can't wait to hear the rest of your adventure, sweetpea!

Goober love & smooches,

what a nice weekend! you went out on a boat?!? whoa, i'm not a fan of water. maybe Santa can bring you a lifevest so you can swim and boat there lots. my woofie cousin loves his and he goes canooing. i'll bet they come in a pretty pink color for you!

we just read about Jackson and left him some healing purrs and thoughts. we will wish on a star too that he gets all better soon.

Thank you so much for the healing purrs and thoughts while I've been sick. I'm sure that is the reason I'm getting better faster. I am very lucky to have such great friends.

Wow! 2 hours train ride in the carrier must be tiring. I have never stayed in the carrier for so long. Jie jie will always find chance to let me out of the carrier to stretch my legs.

You must be having a pawsome time watching sunset out on the boat.

Asta,

Looks like you had a wonderful weekend. I'm guessing you were somewhere on the Great South Bay? Aren't boat rides the best? You look like a true salty dog. We went out sailing on Sunday. It was my Uncle Ted's birthday celebration sail. I was so excited to see him I stepped in his cake and left a big paw print in it. Actually I was claiming my piece.

Kirby said...

What a lovely weekend you had Asta. Isn't boating so wonderful? I love the wind in my fur, I think it's almost better than sticking my face out of the car window. How was that yummylicious salami? It sure looked good!!!

Kirby
