My Daddi came and held me tight..I'd nevew been in a boat befowe wif hoomans, and I had no lifewest, but he said if I jumped in..he'd jump wight aftew me and save me
the wind and spway in my face felt sooo good..I felt like I was that guy in the movie Titanic(only I'm a giwl of couwse)

declare August 5 to be Noms Day.
You celebrate Noms Day however way you want but here are some guidelines of what you could do:
Find a nomss (not-of-my-species-special) friend if you don't have one yet.
Find more noms (not-of-my-species) friends. One can never have too may noms friends!
Have a party with your noms friends. Tell us about them!
Make a post about Noms Day to spread the word and most importantly to promote tolerance towards each and everyone!
Tell your humans about it and urge them to observe Noms Day also. You know that species stands for:
species, race, religion, culture, nationality, language, profession, political party, and so forth - right?
Here is the official Noms Day button to take, we do hope you'll celebrate with us!!!

Hey Asta, wow, I'm so glad you had such a lovely weekend free from your nursing duties. You really deserve it pal, with all the overtime you've been putting in!
I already have a NOMS pal, Miss Peach the cat. And thanks to your kind posts about me I've been inundated with other cats checking up on me. It's been pawsome (as long as they don't come into my back garden!). J x
looks like a fabulous place to spend the weekend! that creature from the deep is scaaary though, what in the heck was that. Your Dad is very nice to offer to save you but I bet you could swim, you are very talented!!
I gotta think about this NOMs thing, does tanner count??
What a lovely spot to spend the weekend - loved seeing you on the boat.
NOMS Day sounds fun, will give it some thought, even though my best blog friends are already NOMS...

Your mini-vacation looked fabulous, Asta! You needed to relax after all your nursing duties! It looks like you never got seasick on the boat!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
Hi Asta,
The friends you were visiting have a lovely place. You looked like you were having a ball playing ball and riding in the boat.
We are very pleased to hear Jackson is doing better. We will continue to check up on him and send a prayer up to The Great Cat before we come in. We figure with the Great Cat & Great Dog working together he'll get better in no time.
See you tomorrow. ~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis
Asta, that spot on LongIsland looks just wonderful. What a special place.
We've never been boating before. Looks like fun. Did your fur get wet?? My sissies would freak out if their fur got wet. Did you have your furdryer on hand??
Noms day is a great idea.

ps...We knew the orange cloud would be your flavorite. That is YOUR color!
What a great time! Did you pick up an accent while there? That boat ride seemed like the best ever, but I don't know if I could have had the self-control that you did. I would have jumped in that water!

Wow! Lon Gisland looks like a beautiful place. My humans miss the ocean in the summer. Your boat ride and sunsets helped me see why. You look very brave on the boat.
I like that NOMS idea. Besides humans I'll have to find another species and try to get along with them.
Deefor
I need to go to Lon Gisland. It looks like the perfect place for me. Just look at all that water. We'd have a great time cruising around on a yacht, don't you think?

hi Asta, riding on that boat sure looked like a lot of fun. that is a special treat that only very special doggies like you get to enjoy.
we like that NOMS day. we have a kitty friend, JB, and Girl Girl, who you know. we also have our birds, Jasper and Chloe. they never get any respect from us.
we're still wishing on our dog star too. it will work! the power of the dog star is huge.
woofs.
That looks like such a beautiful place! It was cool to see the wind ruffling through your furs. And you are very good at "Leave It". That seems like a hard command to do!
Long Island is a beautiful place to relax with your family, Asta. My Mama has relatives there.
What was that sea monster???? I hope it didn't jump.
Glad you had some time off and that Jackson was feeling well enough for you to leave.
Oh, and don't forget to pass on the Red Bow award that Rocky gave you.

You are the sweetest pupcake on Lon Gisland! Looks like your mommi and daddi needed the break with you as much as you needed the time with them!
Of course, you were the heart and soul of the weekend. I have no doubt about that.
Did you get up Saturday morning, run outside & DIVE into that bootiful water so close to the house? You know, you could not keep me from that water! (Wish we could go swimming together.)
Can't wait to hear the rest of your adventure, sweetpea!
Goober love & smooches,
Stanley
what a nice weekend! you went out on a boat?!? whoa, i'm not a fan of water. maybe Santa can bring you a lifevest so you can swim and boat there lots. my woofie cousin loves his and he goes canooing. i'll bet they come in a pretty pink color for you!
we just read about Jackson and left him some healing purrs and thoughts. we will wish on a star too that he gets all better soon.
Thank you so much for the healing purrs and thoughts while I've been sick. I'm sure that is the reason I'm getting better faster. I am very lucky to have such great friends.
Wow, Asta, what an adventure. You looked like you really enjoyed the boat trip, too.

What a fabulous place to visit! I'm glad you didn't get sea-sick in the boat, Asta. You have a happy smile on your face when you're standing and looking at the water!
Quelle aventure impressionante ! Même pour un petit terrier comme toi, c'est une magnifique aventure !
Bisous, Faya
Asta, you had a beautiful evening on the water! Next time, maybe Jackson can be with you.
What a fab weekend Asta, I'm so happy Jackson felt better and you could spend some time with your two leggeds on that wonderful island. The sky was bootiful and you in silhouette, standing against it, matched it pawfectly.....

Asta, What a great adventure you had -- a train ride, lots of grass in a neat house, and a ride in the boat! We know you've been worrying about your sick friends. Maybe this weekend gave you a chance to relax a little.
Happy Noms Day!
Binkies,
Freckles & Deb
Wow! 2 hours train ride in the carrier must be tiring. I have never stayed in the carrier for so long. Jie jie will always find chance to let me out of the carrier to stretch my legs.
You must be having a pawsome time watching sunset out on the boat.
Luv
Snowball
Asta,
Looks like you had a wonderful weekend. I'm guessing you were somewhere on the Great South Bay? Aren't boat rides the best? You look like a true salty dog. We went out sailing on Sunday. It was my Uncle Ted's birthday celebration sail. I was so excited to see him I stepped in his cake and left a big paw print in it. Actually I was claiming my piece.
What a lovely weekend you had Asta. Isn't boating so wonderful? I love the wind in my fur, I think it's almost better than sticking my face out of the car window. How was that yummylicious salami? It sure looked good!!!
Your pal,
Kirby
Wow. That looks like it was a lot of fun. Except for the monster from the deep. Ugly! What is it?
We're glad Jackson is doing better. We hope he continues to get better.
Hi, Asta!
You had a pawesome time there! All those pictures are great!
What kind of monster was that??
Looks scary!
Right now I am in my balcony looking for the Dogstar!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Looks like you had an awfully good time! My mama grew up on Lawn Giland but she says where she was wasn't nearly as nice as where you were...
Love,
