You can leawn mowe about them hewe!
We've been lucky to see at least one pawfowmance evewy yeaw since it was founded..This yeaw, I decided to pawfowm a numbew myself, but unkel tony had to ham it up and wun on stage in middle of my pawfowmance
This yeaw's pawfowmance we attended was a salute to the COPASETICS the mastews of swing..one of theiw signitoowe dances was a Chaiw Dance..hewe's how it came about:
The Story of the Chair Dance
The Chair Dance began in New York in Harlem at the Hoofer's Club, a famous hangout of some of the most legendary tap dancers in the world. This place was given to tap dancers to come and dance or practice. Dancers that didn't have a place to stay, would come there and try to get a little sleep. But the owner didn't allow sleeping, and if caught they would be thrown out.So the dancers, while sitting in a chair, would tap their feet and try to take a little catnap. This developed into the Chair Dance. Mommi was lucky enuff to know "Honey" Coles...he's the second fwom the left and was one of the most wondewful dancews evew and a twoo gentleman
I decided to join Bwownie Bwown and Weggio in a vewsion of the Chaiw Dance(Bwownie was only thewe in spiwit since he is a tapping angel now)
I wish you could all have been thewe..it was a magical night wif bootiful moosic
( piano, base, weeds and dwums) and sometimes singews and even a numbew wif yoo loo lay lees
Billy Stway Hown ( don't wowwy, he was a moosician and composew ,NOT a stway ) was one of the stawtews of the Copasetics too and his moosic was feetoowed
I can't descwibe how pawfect it all was wif the joy going back and fowf fwom the pawfowmews and the audience
Huwwah Unkel Tony!!!!! fow once again pwodoocing a most fantastical Event
hope all of you had a copasetic weekend too

Hi Asta,
Thanks for sharing the story of the Chair Dance. We have seen the dance performed (in the movies, not live), but had no idea of the history.
You sure are a great dancer. I think you were made for the stage, my friend. Is that you singing, too?
Your pal, Pip
P.S.: I sure am happy you are back!
So many fun events you guys are always finding!
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Great performance, Asta. If our humans ever get to NYC to see that show, we hope you can perform again for them. Our human sisters and the oldest grandbiped would so love that show - they are all great tappers.
Hope you had a lovely weekend.

DID YOU BORROW MY PURPLE TAP OUTFIT??? Harumph. I most certainly hope there are no stains or other issues on it...
What a lovely night you had...thank dog your furs are shorter now...you'd have been totally steamed, if not!!!
Mumsie and Daddy just got back from dinner...she just ate a hooge bowl of Spargel Suppe with some sorta truffel oil...and tons of salt and pepper bread...it was magnificent...so she said. I had dry kibble. Oh YUM.
Gotta go help her iron and fold stoopid laundry...
Kisses,
Miss Lacie Spargel Cakes

Oh Asta, you are so amazing. Did your poor nail hurt with your shoes on? I think you are lovely. No worries, and love, Stella.
What a fabulous evening you had, Asta! You are amazing at everything you do!
Love ya lots

Hi Asta
So pleased you had such a magnificent time. Gail says that tap dancing is hard enough with just two feet (at least for 'rhythmically challenged' folk like her...), she can't imagine how skilled you must need to be to keep all four paws in time!
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
You are very talented Asta, i trip over my paws
Have I ever mentioned how when I find comments from you on my blog, it makes me smile a lot? Your sweet voice always does that to me, so then I feel this urge to stop by to see you. You're one cutey patootey, Asta!

Hi Asta
All that tapping must be fun. You and all the other great tappers. Arrow does a chair dance-- but a little different. He's more of a scratch dancer.

You are just such a talented young lady Asta - I hope you have a good agent.
