Oh Asta ! Quelle terrible journée. Mais il faut surtout penser au nouveau jouet et........que tu es belle comme un coeur et grâce à ta Mamy quand même !

Oh Asta, I so totally sympathise. I too am subjected to highly amateurish attempts at home grooming. I must say that your Mommi is much cleverer than Gail at enhancing your already beautiful and shapely head. We can now see your beautiful eyes even more clearly. But FIVE HOURS! I should let you know that if you wriggle around a lot and continually try to chew the stripping knife (or the groomer's hand) you can ensure that grooming sessions last fortyfive minutes max - so it's the little and often approach to grooming in this house (For my grooming that is, for Gail', it's just little....)
Well at least you had that splendid wally melon to help you feel better after your big ordeal.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
OMG, 5 hours is an eternity, Asta, but we can see your lovely eyes so it was worth it, right? Mom has nipped my nail before and caused me to bleed and she felt just horrible too. Nails bleed forever, don't they!
Love ya lots,
Maggie
I'm so glad you survived Asta. Mom tries to cut my toesies off from time to time, too. Horrible.. And that wallymelly looks wonderful!
Kisses,
Bajas
OH NO! I know how you feel - D and C gang up on me too! The last time they tried to groom me - I gave them such a hard time D ended up exhausted and she almost started crying. Maybe we should form a No Grooming Club? I mean we look really cute when we are fluffy - like teddy bears!!! So what is wrong with that?
Lots of licks
Sally and Paddy
PS Your Mommi did a nice job though - you are looking very pretty
Dearest Asta,
Hu-mans is fery wierd creatures indeed. I am sure of it.
I hope fery much that your toe is feeling fery better and that your Momma is having great sympathies for you.
I hafe a stuffie now too (my first one efer) so I can imagine how much you will enjoy that watermelon. You hafe a fery kind furiend to send you such a nice fing.

Our Mom says nothing bleeds like toes and ears - be glad she didn't clip off an ear!! Your eyes look gorgeous with your new trim and your toe will be all well today.
XOXO

Oh my Dawling...I am coming to you. We will run away together to our tropical Isle, and leave the hoomans behind. I am bringing Daddy's plastic, because it is the one that works bestest in our house.

Poor Asta, and poor Mommi - we bet she felt very badly when all she was trying to do was make you even more beautiful than usual. We are glad that Daddi was able to get the miracle powder and save you. We have never seen a wallmelon stuffie but we are so happy to see it made your forget about your boo boo - hope you didn't get any blood on the bed.
Enjoy your weekend, it is going to be a very hot one here.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Dearest Asta.........I hope your poor toe is betters today. You are a most brave girl, to survive such a long and torturous ordeal
Now I think Sally has da right idea. A "no grooming club" is a pawsome idea. Thank dogness, we tend toward the natural and disheveled look with our furs.......butt my momma does attempt to trim up our bangs and shooter furs from time to time (an amateur ar best). And of course, the baths MUST BE included in the "no grooming club" rules of behavior
Hugs, MinnaK
Mom trims her Mom's Yorkie once in a while, and she is only used to trimming horses - with very big clippers... Needless to say, the Yorkie usually is pretty bald with fluff over her private parts and ears.
Sam
What a terrifying experience! You're really lucky to have a good pal who saved the day. That Wallymelon looks like a cool toy for a woofie!!
The Florida Furkids and Angel Sniffie
Oh POOR Asta!! You are furry, furry brave! We must say, though that your 5-hour ordeal looks like it was worth it. You look most beautiful! So sorry about your foot being accidently amputated! Mom doesn't even TRY to do our nails. We go to the dogtor's office and Gizmo's girlfuriend (whose name is Cat!!) does it. Thank Dog!!
Hope you have a better weekend!
-Gizmo, Bart and Ruby
Oh dear Asta, what a day you had! And having a Mommi with "muwduwous tendencies" ...you poor girl:-)
But we love your new look and were so glad to see you enjoying your new toy!
P.S. PU has made my nails bleed too, so please tell your Mommi she's in "good" company!
Oh, Asta, I can empathize on this. The only time Jan ever tried to cut my nails, there was blood all over the kitchen. She claims I yanked just as she clipped, but did she really think I was dumb enough to stay still?
Sam
Oh my goodness, Asta! Do we need to call the police on your murderous Mommi?? Ridiculous! We can't believe she would try and cut your entire toe off--who does that?!? And then she practically shaved all your beautiful wiry fur off. Unthinkable!
What a great new stuffie you got! (And we're with you...we think your Dad is just jealous)!
Happy Saturday!
Elyse and Riley
Oh Asta, I feel for you that must have hurt, but I bet your mom was upset to. Five hours thats like a marathon!! I'm off to the groomers on the 13th mom says it would do her back in if she tried to groom me.
I'm at the groomers all day so its 5 hours for me to!!! but I don't tell mom what I get up to thats between me and Dave :)
Hope your nail is ok
Pucker up I'll send you some more kisses to make it better.
Oh mom did a lovely job just look at your beautiful eyes.
Have a good week
See Yea George xxx
Ugh, grooming is the worst. At least my people don't try to do it themselves, but it's bad enough. I'm so glad you got a special new toy to help you through your day!
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Oh Asta, I too have been put through the home grooming ...it is dreadful. My parents try this a couple of times a year. They have even been known to quit half way leaving me looking just awful - one side short and one side long. I can hardly show my face around the neighborhood on these days.
I am so happy you survived this terrible ordeal!
Your pal, Pip
I sure hope she doesn't try grooming you for a long long time!

Oh Miss Asta, I hope you are ok now. Your mummy must have been upset too. I am scared now to have my nails cut. I think I will need a toy to chew on too. I'm glad to see your happy face with your new toy. No worries, and love, Stella
Yegads! That sounds like a very close call with death to me, Asta! I'm glad you're still alive to tell the tale. Make sure to give your mom grief for a little while and I'll bet you can even get her to take you out for ice cream!
Bunny
Yeesch...now, Asta...that Wallymellon DOES NOT go in the blender...it so wouldn't be a good idea...way too many seeds.
I am going to pop up and remove all your grooming tools and nail clippers from your house...and go and throw them in the Hudson where they will sink. Like rocks.
Besides I heard long furs are coming in for the fall.
Frankly, you look most bootiful, but that sounded like an ordeal. Oh...the nail is no problem...I brought up a tip to glue on...black...what?? Well, all my nails are black so that's all I had...
Kisses,
Miss Lacie Spice Girlie
Oh Asta,,, we just do not understand how our moms want us to look so beautifuls!
All I can say,, is thank goodness I do not have all that hair,,
but the toe nail story,, gosh!!!
well my moms have to take to the vet or petsmart to get my nails done,, because I throw a fit.
I am glad you had a new stuffie to help make you feel better.
And btw,, you are beautiful
love
tweedles
OHH the toenails. I hates having mine done and yelp if Mums so much as holds my paw to firm just to remind her. You look very nice after your trim.
Poor Asta-
That does sound dreadful...My peeps are threatening me and Stanzie with a mid-summer grooming :( YIKES
Wyatt and Stanzie
P.S. it would be worth it, if we could have some new stuffy toys!
OH dear! That sounded like a very bad cut. I am sure your mommi didn't mean to do that to you. It was just an accident. I hope it heals soon.
5 hours! Wow! What horrible torture!
Mom cuts Monty's furs and it always takes about 2 hours! He rather likes it!!!
Miss Asta! I cried reading that terrible story. Oh you poor thing. Nails sure to bleed a lot, don't they? Owie! You look very nice, though, I must say, so maybe next time mommi will be faster. One must suffer at times to be beautiful.
Slobbers,
Mango
Sorry to hear that you're not very happy about your haircut, Asta. But we think your mommi did a good job.
Ahhhhh we really enjoyed your 4th of July post. How lucky you're to watch beautiful fireworks from your own window!! Food looks great as always!

Asta girl,
We think your mom did a marvelous job! I bet you took a nap when she was done!!
Aren't BFF's great?!
Hi Asta! I'm just catching up on blogs and can't believe I missed your dweadful day! I must say - you look fantastical though!
Wags,
Zona
Poor Asta! I can't believe that you were subjected to 5 hours of evil dog grooming torture. The thought of it makes me feel faint and I am afraid I will have nightmares about it tonight. Glad that you have recovered.
Your friend,
Niamh
Ouw Poow, Poow Asta,
Wees fweel sowwy fow da houws and houws of distwess youse wents thwough! De ownlies good tings wees can say...you suwe do look pwetty!
Asta, your beauty shines so brightly from within you, a non-professional grooming isn't even noticeable. I am certain Mommi felt so miserable when she accidently hurt you! I am glad you were able to find comfort in the watermelon stuffy...and maybe forgive her? Love is forever; hair (and nails) come and go.
What a great example you set, Asta. Look at that beautiful smile on your beautiful face. We think you look gorgeous, and you proved, all's well that ends well.
We love you.
Oh no!!! Poor Asta!!I'm sure your Momma is VERY VERY VERY sorry, ^ will never try that again!!! But.... at least your Daddi saved you from bleeding to death!! what a horrible thought!!!!And... you got your new Wally mellon toy!! (Now you've got me really scared!!! My Momma asked those CWB people about trying to trim MY NAILS!!!!! She'd better never try, 'cause I'll show HER whose boss!!!) Meowies, "Jack Kittek" & the Momma (upstate NY)
