I am pointing to his name on this plaque that they awe dedicating at Wutgews Oonivewsity tomowwow
My Daddi was in the Fiwst Peace Cowe Gwoup a million yeaws ago
He and his fellow volunteews fwom that gwoop awe being honowed.
He hasn't seen most of them fow  yeaws and yeaws, so it will be vewy special time fow him.
My Hooman Sissie and some fwiends awe coming to woot fow him , but I can't go.

I wasn't bowned yet of couwse, but I have seen wif my own eyes that he  was feetoowed  in an old time magzazine that was called  The Satuwday Evening POST ..it was septembew 8, 1962 and the magzazine cost twenty cents(I guess  things wewe cheepew then)
the title of the awticle was on the fwont covew"In the Andes with a Peace Cowpsman"
and thewe wewe fouw pages all about him wif pictoowes  whewe he looke way diffewent..sowt of hooge and he hadn't gotten his Look-alike -to -a-tewwiew beawd ow colowing yet

this is the fwont of a Tee shiwt  they made fow them..I hope it's my size, so I can show it off
I'm vewy pwoud of my Daddi .
He has nevew stopped leawning fwom othews and being  genewous and peaceloving.

this is a yoo tube thingy that sowt of talks about  them and thewe's eve some pictoowes of Daddi thewe , but since I can't smell him, I don't wecognise him a tall

Aftew the Peace Cowe, , Daddi studied some mowe, then went back to diwect pawt of it fow a while in Chile, and then became a pwofessow

Lucky fow me, along the way, he became my Daddi
the sweetest , kindest , smawtest Daddi I know(OK, so I'm a little pwejoodiced , but he weally is gweat!)

I don't get to go to the cewemony, but mommi will go , so once again I have to pleez ask fow youw patience, cause we won't get a chance to visit you.

so pleez stay healthy and happy and know you'we all in my heawt

Asta! Our adoptive sissie Asta! We are SO PROUD of your daddi (and our daddi, too!!!!) we are about to bust. Daddi is THE MOST KIND, GENEROUS (sorry, Moma says we were shouting, and it's sorta rude), sweet, sensitive, smart, caring and BEST people we've ever met. And we are just as proud as you are of him. He deserves this special acknowledgement, and he needs to know that he continues to help and influence people in VerySpecialWays. Did you remember that our NinaGirl has talked about wanting to be a part of the Peace Corps? Anyhow, we're sorry you can't go for the ceremony, but we are really really glad that your mommi (AuntieAmi ... heehee ... we sure miss her) can. And we hope we get to see lots of pictures.

Right now we've gotta go apply our nursing skills to Moma. We've been watching you carefully, and we know the prescriptions. Smoochie kisses and lots of love. And cuddles. And maybe some Cherry Clafoutis. (We miss you.)

Dear Miss Asta: We are very proud to know your Daddi and Mommi, and of course you. We did not recognize your Daddi in any of those pictooors, but we think he might have been the guy talking toward the end about making 1/5th of what he made the first week out of collidge.

Woo Hoo, and we think that guy with the glasses and funny hair line looks like OUR Dad. Hehehehe

Dear Sissie Asta. Please forgive us for this "stock comment." We hope you'll understand, we're working under the pressure of time. (We're hungry.)

OK. We're gonna admit. Straightaway. No bones about it. We're taking the easy peasy way out. We want to get around to EVERYONE on our blog roll to remind you about the Second Annual Worldwide Moment coming up on Sunday 14 Nov 10. Were you there last year? Do you remember? Or are you new to it this year? Wondering what that Countdown Clock is on blogs that you visit? Whatever. We want you and everyone you know to have a chance to participate in the Silent Minute, the Candle Lighting and the Shout Out! Come visit. We've got a new banner for you, HTML for an (accurate, now that the word UNTIL is in red) Countdown Clock and a link to figure out what time 11:00 PM GMT is in your neck of the woods.

So. You're getting this 'cause we've been friends in the blogging world and we want you to know.

Please forgive the "stock" comment, but we told Moma we've never done this before and we'll not do it again (at least until next year.)

Loads of wirey love and lots of encouragment to join in (and to pass the word)
Jake and Fergi (and OurMoma and OurCollegeGirl)

We have to comment again!!! We are so thrilled that your Daddi is being honored and recognized for his work! We just watched the Rutger's video and Parental Unit cried her eyes out. (with joy, that our country did and is still doing such a great thing-what a legacy your Daddi is part of!)

PU went to visit the then director of the Peace Corps, Dick Celeste, in his office in Washington, right at the end of the Carter admistration-she was so proud just to be in that office! Celeste was then elected Governor of Ohio for 2 terms (83-90).

Would you mind if we embed the Rutger's video and mention your Daddi and you post on our blog? We would be honored...
Can hardly wait to see the pictures from the ceremony!

Feel free to e-mail us at: jdemarti@columbus.rr.com (this address is at the bottom of our blog)

We're back. Again. Moma finally took the time to watch the Rutgers video without interruption, and then she sent it to NinaGirlie to watch. We are so proud of what JFK did, and how Daddi was a part of all of it. It just goes to prove what fabulous men they are. We are so proud of him, and to be able to say that we know him and he knows us. We are so lucky. And you, Asta, and very very privileged to have him as your daddi.

Please give him a hug for us
