Asta Sweetie...Seems like there is a bad case of depression being passed around among DWB female hooman pawrents. I don't know what we can do. Me and Teka are going to consider your advice and try sleeping through it. The way things are going around here, we won't miss much!

We happen to think that your tree is lovely. We also think sleeping is a good thing to do any old time.

Aaw Asta we are sad to read your Mommi is feeling so glum.

It hasn't stopped raining here for days and the skies are constantly grey so we quite understand how easy it is to feel a bit down.

We have been busy keeping our hooman busy. A bit like Scruffy, Lacie and Stan really, we bring in the mud and the towels are always filthy so she has to keep washing them and because we are keeping her busy we are so pawsitive she is forgetting she is fed up.

Give your Mommi loads of ((( )))) from us.

First of all. Your Christmas tree IS decorated. With beautiful candles that glow all over with warmth and love. OK. Maybe that's not all you had in mind, but we want you to notice all the wonderfulness around you and it let surround you and fill your hearts with love. And peace. And even some joy. That's what this season is all about. Regardless of who you are or where you're from. Or what you believe. Or how you celebrate. Forget the cards, pressies, special food (that's hard - we admit it!), decorations. All that stuff. And rejoice in the true Spirit of the Season.

We love you, Sissie ASTA.
Please give Auntie Mommi and our Daddi a big hug and special ASTA-delivered smoochie from us. And remind her: one minute in the microwave should make that healing pillow last 30 minutes.

You are PAWESOME, thank you so much for mentioning my painting in your blog!

I just read your comment on my post, it is so nice of you to be wanting to help! But since the price of the painting is already above your human's limit, and you asked if there was different way you could send some money to help... That's such a generous thought!! But I was thinking, instead of sending it to us, maybe you could donate that money a local shelter near you? I think it would be awesome if we could all donate money to as many shelters as we can to help more animals!

Oh Asta, I do hope you and your human don't get too depressed, it's the wrong time of year for depression! Listen, we just got our first snowfall today this year... I'm going to see if I can send some to you, to help cheer you guys up!

I hope you have a GRRRReat week ahead!

I have been following your blog early this year, but I was too shy to introduce myself. Today I was notified that someone made a donation for my wheelies- I knew it was you. So I am taking this opportunity to thank you and introduce myself. I would really love to be your friend.
We went to Sunny Scooter's blog and will do what his mom is requesting. It made us teary eyed to read her post. So much love of a mother for his son.
Again, thank you very much Sweet Asta!

Dear Asta's mommy: this is the time of year when lots of hoomans get sad, especially if it's raining day in and day out - it feels like all you want to do is stay in and... well... stay IN!!! And I also think your tree looks very happy with all the twinkling lights. Just talked to my mom and sister who live in Manhattan - we know what the weather's been like and the mood. Hang in there Asta and mommy and things will get better. We're going over to those blogs you mentioned right now.

Your tree looks really nice and what'd complete it is if you sat under it for a pic cos your smiling face will be brighter than all those Christmas lights!

Oh, Asta, your tree is boo-tee-full! just like you n yer Momi. Ours is nekked. No lights, 2 ornaments that some of her girlie friends gave her Saturday. She says she's not depressed, just overworked and stressed. And the Mr. can't go up in the attic to get stuff and the idiot Marine stumbled around up there and saw 'something' dark n skittering around and vamoosed. She just bought some lights today...says they'll either get on or not and it's the thought that counts. Thanks for the links to the other bloggies, yer heart is always full of love and compassion for others...and who needs a tree when you already got the Christmas spirit in yer heart. Well, some of the guys might 'need' a tree, but more on that later. Puffy is in the dog house is all I'm gonna say about that right now.
We will be sending warm wishes to yer Momi so she feels better soon.
Or maybe a bottle of single malt, that makes everyone feel better!

Hi Asta! You look so cute in your Christmas pjs. Don't get too depressed - we haven't seen anything but rain since we arrived here from Australia, but we're really really enjoying that it's actually cold for Christmas - makes it all the more magical and cozy inside, with fires, Christmas lights and yummy things to eat! Sure it's nice to have the harbour and the beaches and the sun, but for Christmas, there's nothing like this! (even if it is rain!)

Dear Asta and Mummy!

Please tell you Mummy Asta, this is a bad time of year for feeling blue.

My Jeannie used to get very depressed around this time, she blames it on the darkness, and the gloom!

One year it was so bad, she bought a SAD Lamp, which gives a natural sun light ......it worked a treat.

Google it, my J says, and give one a try. It does help, and it is not addictive or anything.

I am sure your tree will look fine soon, we don't have a proper tree this year, but a fibre optic silver one, which is very pretty, and my J says is very good because it is already decorated.

Hope your Mama feels better real soon.

And the sun shines again for her.

It will, just be patient.

We always remember those we love that might not be here with us but know that they are close to you in your hearts and near in your thoughts. The cloudy grey weather doesn't help either. Maybe you two need to get on the warm clothes and walk around NYC and check out all of the beautiful decorations and maybe that will cheer you up. I will check out your friend's place to see what is up there.

Dear Kousin Asta,

Although the Holidays are fun, they can also be very hard on people. (Grandpa is going through something similar.) The only thing that you can do though is to try to stay focused on today, and not dwell on the past or on the things that upset you. Try to think about this Christmas only, today, just now, just today, and enjoy each other's company and love.

You've got the right idea, kousin Asta. If all else fails, take a nap.

Your tree looks great just the way it is! My mom would not do another thing to it. It's already beautiful!!

And so are you, your Mommi Ami, and Daddi George!
