AT THE WOYAL WEDDING

Aftew  a whiwlwind flight on Butchy's Plane (piloted by hie kitteh bwuvvew Sylvestew so that Butchy can welax and not stwess), Gussie and I awwived in London fow the
Woyal wedding, along wif fwiends and tewwiew family

you can biggify all the pictoowes if you want to twy to figgowe out who we awe

we wewe met at the Aiwpawt by Miss Enid(of the House of Squawe)
my coach fow all  the pwopew Eat a Cat
We awe in excellent paws, ummm, I mean wheels, she has been at evewy woyal wedding since Queen Victowia and has  given instwuction to the Woyals themselves

we wewe initially going to stay in a posh hotel, but my deew cousin Ewic Squawe dog convinced us that the way to go is to camp out in fwont of Buck House
he saved us a most pawfect spot to see all the action, and we've been hewe fow sevewal days now

Ewic is a most wondewful host and  awwanged evewything
we had comfowtabull sofas and shayz lunges and of couwse lovely tea  as soon as we awwived
I quite like the salmon paste samiches and the spotted dick

I had some concewns about the lack of bafwoom wif multi-pull sinks and gwanite countew tops like all a mewwy cans  pwefew, but Ewic assuwed me that  bathing in the fountain in fwont of the Palace was just the thing, ( I do think that Lacie could have shown a little westwaint)
Mango, who awwived unexpectadly seemed appalled

The Queen complained that the howsies  dwawing hew cawwiage wewe not  up to paaw, so my gwandson Scwuffy and bwuvvew Jake volunteewed to lead the  pawade

Natoowally, the Woyals insisted that we attend the wedding and all the festivities

I am undew the stwictest owdews not to weveal THE DWESS, so you'll just have to wait fow the delayed telebision covew age,
I can weveal that The house of Agatha has been sewing dog bones  on silk and tulle fow momfs   shhhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone

To ouw delight we saw the Beagle aunties Mawfa and Bailey on the steps of Westminstew Abbey(we have missed them tewwibully since they stopped blogging)

We wewe the fiwst to entew the Abbey and I can tell you thewe was a most wondewful hush when the assembulled guests saw us in all ouw magnificence

Awchie Played his Tuba and Accowdion  fow the pwocessional, and may I say, he was astounding

We waited at the Altaw fow the Bwide to Awwive
(the Queen kept asking Ewic Squawe fow advice the whole time)

photo couwtesy of Mumsie
We joined the happy Couple on the balcony to wave to  ouw ummm, I mean theiw loyal subjects ( I gave Wills and Kate, umm I mean theiw highnesess a smoochie kiss on behalf of all of us and wished them much happiness)
aftew that it was on to lunch and nap and then of couwse the dance, but Mommi's camewa was confiscated at that point and you'll just have to imagine the west

I hope all of you had fun joining us
isn't womance gweat????

My heawt goes out to a ll the victims of the howwibull townados. I pway that all my fwiends awe safe (thanks to the wondewful  zoolatwy giwls fow this lovely sign)

smoochie kisses

  2. OMD...for some reason, Mumsie is speechless...and rolling on the floor...no, no she's not over here...I have her on Webcam....she seems to be sobbing about something...at least I think she is...er...NO, SHE'S LAUGHING....

    At what???

Now, would you please pass me that spotted um that dish on the left...and I'll have another cup of tea with Schlag in it and twelve crumpets.

And Asta...Miss Enid is rather appalled at us er you. I KNOW it got boring during the ceremony, but did you and Scruffy HAVE to start playing with that orange tennis ball? Enid had a horrid time getting it out of Kate's er Catherine's train....

    Royal kisses,

  5. I am so disappointed that my invitation to the wedding was lost! I'm sure they must have sent it -- I mean, I am a Greyhound princess after all! You all look fantastic in your finery!

I miss Martha and Bailey, too!

  8. Oh Asta, never in a million years could Jake nor I have imagined being with all of OurFriends in the company of Royals, rubbing shoulders and sharing canapes. (I know. I know. The food wasn't the most important part, but it still is really important to me ... it wasn't till I saw myself at the tent outside of Buck Pal that I realized how my eyes always drifted toward it, if it was near.) Anyhow. I'm so hoping we made such a wonderful impression upon Prince William and Princess Catherine that we might ... just might ... have influenced the family to at least consider us wirey types as the next Royal Dog. We are, after all, already comfortable with the pupparici. At least most of us are.

Didn't everyone look lovely? Oh, how I loved being on Butchy's arm ... and Jake was sooo proud to be with LadySally again. Oh .... it has been simply wonderful!

Fergi (and Jake ... he's hunting for his top hat)

  9. My dear Asta, might I say that you look fabulous in orange. I think you just might steal the show from the bride. Please give my regards to the Queen and tell her that Mr. Pip will be watching all the way from his couch in Chicago!

    Your pal, Pip

  12. Oh dear Asta I so enjoyed the pictures. you all looked so fabulous!!

The Queen would be wise to listen closely to the advise given by Square Eric!!

I eagerly await a glimpse of the princess gown...you lucky girl to see it first.

Perhaps your mum would sketch a few drawings of it and we can all have a pseudo-princess dress tailored for our very own!

Cheerios errrrr ummm I mean Cheery O!!

  13. The excitement! The splendor! You are the perfect representative of the Dog Blogworld, Asta...elegant, poised, proper, and so very matter-of-fact! Have a swell time!

  14. Well this post is almost enough to convince Gail to stay in and watch the telly, if only to catch a glimpse of the WFT drawn carriage to hear Archie's tuba and accordion echoing around the Abbey.
What a shame we shall be heading off to our cottage for the weekend. Sunshine and long walks in the hills are forecast. Perhaps you could all come up and join me and let your hair down after the ceremonials?
    Toodle pip!

  15. Oh Asta - what a wonderful day! I was so happy to be escorted by Jake and be part of the celebrations! Fairy tales can come true!!

We did think Archie did a great rendition on his tuba - and Eric had some very wise words for the Queen.

I think the Queen will make sure we are at all future events - we added a touch of class, no?

    Lots of licks

  17. You guys MADE that wedding. I thought it was going to just be another boring human thing. Not true! And what snappy dressers you all are. I am still a bit jet lagged I am afraid. Given that I am only actually awake about two hours per day, it is difficult to shift that time and look alert on such short notice.

    Slobbers,

  35. Asta dear. Miss Enid here. I have enrolled you and Lacie into my summer school Etiquette Course after your appalling terrier behaviour yesterday. How many times do I have to tell you playing ball is not a seemly pastime for genteel lady dogs? Your new course will cover all aspects of demure and suitable pastimes.Crewel work, tapestry and embroidery to name but a few of the subjects covered.Such Fun!I'm know you will be over excited at this lovely surprise but do try and show some restraint please dear.

    Fondly

Sorry we haven't been around much but Mommy still isn't well so we don't go visiting much. Mommy's got a bad cold right now so we hyave been home all day naping and we've read all your posts we've missed.

Looks like you had a gret time at the wedding. Mommy just loved Kate's dress. It is so nice to see all the flowers in NY, things are so dry here that we don't hardley see anym flowers. Mommy is starting up our A-Z flowers posts and we found one of youm we'd like to use if that's OK.

    Love you lots....Mona & Wennie

  40. Dearest Asta, how delightful to see you on the occasion of the Royal Wedding.
We were so pleased to be able to wear our House of Asta creations!
If only you had been asked to design for Princess Eugenie and Beatrice!
As ever you thought of everything.
We really could not believe our mince pies as Eric would say when we saw all you wires camping outside Buckinham Palace!
Your afternoon tea was lovely and we know the sight would have brought a smile to all the Royal family.
We believe the corgis will be in touch for your fashion advice in the near future.
