Today was a very BIG day. Mommy trusted me to stay by myself, out of my crate alone at home, while she went uptown. She was gone for 5hrs.....that's very very loooong.....and when she came home, she found me sitting, snoozing, on my pillow......no accidents, NO CHEWING of walls or furniture
she said I was an angel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went for a walk........it's warm!!!!!!!! and fresh at the same timeWOW a great day.....but then guess what happened: the biggest dogs I've ever seen came down the middle of the street, with people sitting on them-----Mommy said they're something called horses, not dogs.....whatever....they were VERY scary .I hope I don't see them again.
I hope you're all having a beautiful spring day like I am,XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

So as I told you a few days ago, we had to go pick up Mommy's paintings in Rhode Island.....she sold 4 more for a total of seven paintings....the best is that she sold this huuuuuge one that Daddy would have had to saw in half to bring home in the little rental car, whew!
I discovered that the best place to sit in a car for a long trip is up by the window....warm and cozy ....and a great place to wave to everyone from....
it's all slushy again outside ,so I can't go for very long walks without getting icky....I may be getting my first grownup haircut soon.....I'm torn, it's exciting to grow up, but I kind of like being a fluffy puppy......
gotta run and play, lots of smoochie kisses to everyone, ASTA

Cats
I've heard from my pen-pal cats(Jenny Anydots and the Countess Meowski), that there are all sorts of cats. They happen to be angellicle cats....that sounds pretty special to me. You know, if it weren't for some horror stories that I found in my older sister's diary, about their ancestor Macavity, eeeeeek!, I'd go to meet them in person...but something tells me I should exercise caution in this cat issue, What do you think?
I wrote this in blue, cause it's their favorite color, And I WANT TO GET ON THEIR GOOD SIDE.
Have you ever smelled the outside after a good rainstorm.....WOW.........yesterday, after my nap I went for a stroll, and this great smell hit my licorice nose..it was like somebody turned up the smell volume, but only the fresh stuff (not the usual icky stuff I like to investigate), anyway I highly recommend running out right after it stops to rain and take a good loooooong sniff....everything is new again.
It has recently come to my attention that some people don't have dogs in their family, but something called CATS.....I have never ever seen one, but they must have some good qualities cause some of my favorite people seem to like them, and let them in their house.....I don't know why you would want a cat friend, since they don't come out to play or walk, and I heard they like to slap you for no good reason (with sharp claws) ...pretty scary huh?
I did hear they like to pounce, and I like to do that with my toys, so maybe we could get along, but I'm a little scared, even though I'm a brave little terrier.
On another subject: I'm pretty excited, tommorrow we're going on an outing...Mommy needs to get her paintings back from a place far away...so we're renting a car, and going on a trip.......I hope we get to eat a lot and see good stuff......maybe I'll even meet a cat?????????
Today if you go out, make sure you put big rocks in your pockets...I almost got blown to New Jersey...that would be awful.
see you later, I have to go for an important nap, love and kisses ASTA

lashes
Today, I had to walk all over the Village in search of the perfect eyelash curler for my Mommy...after getting yanked thru a zillion puddles and muck left over from the snow and rain and city grime, we finally get to Ricky's...(tooooo many choices, but we finally get one)...then, back thru the same muck to home, where my feet have to be scrubbed till they are raw to try to get the yucky stuff off, just to find out we bought the wrong one....ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Now I understand that few human girls have decent, let alone beautiful lashes(my cousin Carina, and my aunt Karen are exceptions),but what angst over this issue.
Poor Mommy, she didn't inherit my lashes, but she doesn't get it......I love her ....I don't care about lashes...I'd much rather play......as I've said before, I don't understand humans.

So I go to buy some Amaryllis(no, not my Mommy--the flowers)......you would think this would get me treats and kisses, but nooooooooo......I'm told I'm very muddy, and unceremonially plopped into the bath .
this is a lesson I thought I was much too young to learn-----NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED.....
Later that day, I lost another toothy, a big one, and got my icy cloth all bloody....some days you just shouldn't get up.......
Things improved a lot by dinner time, I was admired and fawned over , and told how wonderful I SMELLED, people are weird, it's hard to figure out how to please them.
Gotta run, and play now , hope you have a cozy Sunday,
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO ASTA

Hi to all my very special friends, I got a late start today....brrrrr...when it's this cold I prefer to stay in my bowhaus where it's warm and cozy...
I've been very busy chewing an icy cloth(if you have a toothache this is good to know: take a clean coth/make it sopping wet/ twist and tie/ pop into the freezer...when it's done, you can chew on it and it helps your toothy ache. (I'm still waiting for the rest of my second teeth-the tooth fairy gives pretty good trade for them). I was able to pay for a taxi to bring Daddy home one cold and stormy night from work...the bus was tooooo slow, and tooooo cold for waiting. Money seems to be a very good thing to have.
I hope my friend Renee and her sweeties are staying warm, kissesASTA

here's a tip if you're really really mad: today Daddy bawled me out for chewing the rug ( I'm sure you can relate), well, first I told him how I felt (in a prolonged rant), then I ran back and forth like a maniac about a zillion times, from one end of the apartement to the other........and presto chango, I felt fine and could relax and play....I wasn't mad anymore.....you should all try this when the world is just toooooo toooooo much, love and kisses ASTA
hi, this is me again ASTA in my new couture sweater (that means it was made just for me...the onliest one in the world....very hard to get...unless you know my Mommy and she likes you)..the snow in my little park is starting to get yucky so I had to take these pictures right away.....anyway I haven't decided what font and color I like that's why this looks funny...THE REST OF THE DAY IS BOOOOORING cause my parents insist on cleaning the house (why????it's just going to get dirty again, but they're unreasonable like that...so i'm just chewing stuff.
Today my Daddy discovered that I might become a sculptor...appearantly, if you chew marble, this is the conclusion.

My favorite quote
"I've seen a look in dogs’ eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically dogs think humans are nuts." -John Steinbeck
